You will compose a 5 page analysis tracing how your thinking about justice has transformed and/or been challenged over the course semester. What assumptions about justice did you make at the beginning of the semester? How have those assumptions been challenged over the course of the semester? How has your definition of justice been informed by the reading and course discussions? Think about how you defined justice before our class started. For example, if you said justice is equality or justice is punishment for breaking the law you want to interrogate these definitions in your essay based on what weve read and discussed this semester. Ask yourself, what is missing from this definition? What are the limitations of this conception of justice? It might be useful to think about the course material and identify the thinkers (i.e. Douglass, King, Assata) keywords, and central ideas about justice you want to incorporate into your essay.
